“A portrait is a picture full of holes. The image is there precisely to point out what cannot be said, what happens to bodies in a given space and time, which is not that of photography. Then, the images show their status as a sign, a signal and even a poetic rune. Photograph sheds light on what can only manifest but cannot be explained. All these holes are possibilities, spaces, and enigmas; these holes are also seduction, the place that must inhabit those who will be involved in the equation that will give rise to the image. Finally, these holes are the special and unique place for each spectator. If, out of a desire to explain something to the viewer – however necessary it may be – all these holes are saturated with unequivocal messages, with specific intentions, what do we leave to the photograph?”
